(CITY OF GUELPH, ON) – On October 12, 2020, at approximately 7:00 p.m., a Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was monitoring traffic and conducting radar on Hanlon Parkway near Laird Road in Guelph. The officer observed a white vehicle travelling northbound at a speed that appeared to be well above the posted 80 km/h speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar in at 140 km/h. As a result, Jonas GREGORIO, 41-year-old resident of Guelph, has been charged with Racing a Motor Vehicle and Speeding contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. The defendant is scheduled to appear in Guelph at the Ontario Court of Justice – Provincial Offences Court on January 6, 2021. Their vehicle and driver’s licence were seized for a period of seven days as per statute.
