Drunk Driver Goes Through Bush Lot In Attempt To Evade Police – SCOTT

(ASHFIELD-COLBORNE-WAWANOSH, ON) – A resident of Ashfiled-Colborne-Wawanosh is facing some serious criminal charges after he was caught trying to evade police while driving drunk this past weekend.

On Saturday, October 24, 2020 at approximately 7:42 p.m. a Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer attempted to stop a pickup truck on Lucknow Line near Belfast Road for various Highway Traffic Act offences when the driver pulled over then took off from the officer.

The driver of the pickup truck drove through a bush lot and a field in an attempt to evade the officer however the officer was able to intercept the suspect vehicle a short distance away. Upon speaking with the driver the investigating officer noted the driver was displaying several signs of impairment. The driver was placed under arrest and was transported to the Huron OPP Detachment for breath tests. Two samples of breath were analyzed by the Intoxilizer Technician and both samples were found to be above the legal limit.

Kennedy SCOTT, 22 years of age from Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh has been charged with Operation While Impaired, Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration 80 Plus, Flight from Peace Officer and Dangerous Operation.

The accused has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for December 7, 2020 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
