(WEST PERTH, ON) – Two people are facing charges after a family dispute in Mitchell last weekend.
On November 08 2020, just after 11:00 a.m., the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a call about a family dispute with violence currently occurring at an address on Waterloo Street, in the Municipality of West Perth.
When officers arrived on scene, one person was attempting to flee the residence. Officers attempted to stop the suspect from leaving, and they became assaultive towards police. Another person then tried to intervene and stop police from arresting the suspect.
As a result, Austin FORSYTH, 20, of Mitchell, has been charged with:
Assault
Mischief Under $5000
Resist Peace Officer
Assault a Peace Officer
Additionally, Amanda GOOCH, 40, of Mitchell, has been charged with:
Assault
Obstruct Peace Officer
The accused parties are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charges.
